Travels

April was full of travels and visitors. I headed to Waco, TX with our equestrian team where they placed 3rd and I came home with real cowboy boots. I left Waco early Saturday and flew into Greenville/Spartanburg for a old college friend's wedding. She was a beautiful bride and it was good to see old college friends from my time at Clemson. A few days later we headed to Edisto and welcomed Jake, Katie, Scott and Krissy to South Carolina for a long weekend at the beach with old and newer friends. The boys have been friends since the 6th grade playing basketball...a long time ago! After we said goodbye to the midwest crew we had more visitors from Ames. DJ's parents came down for a weekend visit. We caught 2 baseball games, cleaned out the garage and put up shelves to make room for DJ's new ride. Some photos from April...

FIG

All dressed up and ready for FIG. We tried a new restaurant in Charleston, or new to us. FIG is a short walk from the condo and is now one of our top 3 favorite restaurants in Charleston. We will definitely dine there again!

It's been a long few weeks...Edisto here I come!

"Gum Pole"

There is a light or electrical pole in Charleston that attracts gum...lots of gum. Anyone that has been to Charleston to the end of the Market to East Bay know what I'm talking about. Although now they are trying to clean up the pole and giving out tickets for those that try to add to the collection...I have not added to the collection.

Up North

We enjoyed a long weekend in Minnesota with DJ's family...we would have enjoyed a few more days! Over the next few days I'll post some pictures from our trip.

Fun In Waco

I enjoyed the trip to Waco, but am happy to be home. Last night they had their end of the year dinner. It was a lot of fun. They are sweet girls and I wish the seniors well...

New Friends

Tripp and Carter had a chance to play together twice on Saturday. We went to visit the newest addition to the Bowie family and the boys hit it off. The Bowie's came over to Kimberly & Tillman's house for dinner Saturday night and the boys got to play together again. They might have to get together more often...

Home Sweet Home

Nationals are finished...the University of Georgia won the title and I'm heading home! It's been a pretty good week in Waco, I just wish there were a few more wins, maybe different judges and a title for the Gamecocks. I'm looking forward to seeing the hubby and Trice tomorrow.

Long Weekend at Edisto

It's been an overcast and rainy weekend at the beach...but even the dreariest day is a good one if you are at the beach!

Charleston

DJ and I both love Charleston, SC and would move there in a heartbeat. These are some photos I took the week we were there for Christmas.

Destin

We enjoyed our long weekend in Destin with DJ's grandparents. We got an early start Saturday morning and were in Destin before 5pm. We did a little outlet shopping, played several games of dominoes, ate yummy food and enjoyed some grandparent time. DJ's grandparents are Minnesota snowbirds - they head south for Destin sometime in December and will return to the cool Midwest in March.

SNOW!

Yes, once in a blue moon it snows in South Carolina. We are traveling home from Destin and hope we do not encounter any weather problems. Keep you fingers crossed!

Southern Farming

As we traveled to Destin, we drove through several small towns in southern Georgia. For those of you that have never traveled below the Mason "Dixie" Line we also have farms...just a little different than corn and soybean fields. These are pictures of cotton fields and pecan trees.
